Dr. Wheeler specializes in identifying patterns and environmental factors that create barriers in daily life. Sessions focus on clear communication to explore how thoughts influence decisions, with an emphasis on behavioral development and emotional healing. She works collaboratively with clients to foster healthy interactions and lasting change.
With experience across hospitals, treatment facilities, community centers, and universities, Dr. Wheeler creates a safe, empowering space for clients to reach their goals. Her kind, empathetic approach builds trust, helping clients engage in the life they desire. She tailors practice-based interventions to meet the needs of adolescents, adults, couples, families, and groups.
Dr. Wheeler holds a Bachelor’s in History of Art from the University of Michigan, further graduate study at Christie’s Education in New York, a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan, and a Doctorate in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University.
Dr. Wheeler combines her passion for ethical practice and lifelong learning as a clinical instructor at Florida Atlantic University. She teaches in the Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work programs, as well as supervises postgraduate students. Licensed in New York and Colorado, she treats couples as an affiliate therapist at CBT Denver and has taught at Denver University.
